Research Institute of Forestry, Chinese Academy of Forestry (RIF, CAF) is a comprehensive public welfare research institution focusing on forest cultivation, forest genetics and breeding, forest ecosystem management and forestry ecological engineering. It focuses on solving national, major, trans-regional, basic and applied scientific and technological problems in forestry construction, and is the main undertaking unit of national forestry research projects.
RIF, CAF has the “Laboratory of Tree Breeding and Cultivation of National Forestry and Grassland Administration” and the “Laboratory of Molecular Identification of New Plant Varieties of National Forestry and Grassland Administration”. It is also the main technical support unit of “State Key Laboratory of Tree Genetics and Breeding”, “Hazelnut Engineering and Technical Research Center of National Forestry and Grassland Administration” and “National Forestry and Grassland Innovation Alliance on Hazelnut”.
RIF, CAF has carried out international cooperation and exchanges with more than 30 countries and more than 20 international organizations, and has an important influence in the field of international forestry research. The hazelnut team has visited major hazelnut producers in the world such as the United States, Italy and Turkey, organized a 24-member delegation to attend the 9thInternational Hazelnut Congress in Turkey, participated in the 10thInternational Hazelnut Congress online, and invited a number of well-known hazelnut experts to visit RIF, CAF.
